Dima Srouji and Piero Tomassoni in the 19th Architecture Biennale, Venice
We are pleased to announce Piero Tomassoni and Dima Srouji’s participation in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Carlo Ratti under the title Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective. This year’s theme investigates the intersection of different forms of intelligence—human, technological, and ecological—and their potential to collaboratively reshape our understanding of the built environment.

The project brings together Srouji’s work on the ground as a site of cultural heritage and Tomassoni’s concept of time reclaiming structures, while continuing their shared work on ‘spaces of decompression’, which recently brought them together for the talk Forms of Shelter at the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2024.
Time Reclaiming Structures is an ongoing project whose first iteration, Gaza Shelters, will be presented in the Intelligens Canon section of the Biennale.
The Biennale will be on view from the opening week, the 7th to the 11th of May, until November.
